The Spinto Band

Arin: When I found out about podcasting in the March ‘05 Wired arcticle that profiled Adam Curry, I immediately started searching for Film-related audio podcasts and found Jump Cut Radio. I begin listening to his show when ever I was on the subway and started to understand the appeal of podcasting, the personal nature, the intimacy of having a friend to talk directly in-your-ear and keep you company through out your day. The show was about music and film, the two main things I’m interested in, and he even had pretty good taste in music. One of the songs he played was called “Oh Mandy,” by Spinto Band. I got the band’s website from the shownotes and immediately put “Oh Mandy” on our playlist. And of course, the song come up while I was editing our trailer to Four Eyed Monsters and even though we didn’t have permission, I couldn’t help but put it in the timeline and it fit perfectly. Eventually I got in touch with them and got the okay to be using the track and have since even gotten I good number of the band members into the video podcast. From what we can tell they seem like pretty cool guys and hope we can catch a live show of theirs some time soon.
