Four Eyed Monsters
Q & A
What is Four Eyed Monsters?
Four Eyed Monsters is the film we made. It's an indepedent, narrative feature film. We just spent the past year showing it at film festivals all over the US and in Brazil and Germany. We are now releasing an online documentary about our experiences on the festival circuit. The series is called the FEM Video Podcast and is available for free as a video-podcast in the iTunes Music Store and as a video-blog on MySpace.com. Either way, it's free to watch the series.
How can I see the film? Can I buy a DVD?
The film is not yet available. We are trying to get distributors interested in our film. The best way to do that is to show them that a lot of people want to see the film, so subscribe to the video podcast on MySpace or iTunes and tell everyone you know about it!
What is the difference between subscribing to the video podcast on MySpace and subscribing on iTunes.
It all depends on what you're more comfortable with. One cool thing about subscribing on MySpace is that every time a new episode comes out, you'll get a message when you log in that says "New Blog Subscription Posts," so there's no need to check our profile for new episodes, and plus, so many of us spend so much time on MySpace as it is, why not just watch the series there too? The benefit to subscribing with iTunes is that the videos are higher quality. You can watch them full-screen and they're also optimized for the new Video Ipod. Both ways are free, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Is there anything I can do to help?
Subscribe to the video podcast on MySpace or iTunes and tell everyone you know about it! You can also help spread the word about the episodes by putting items from the HTML code page on your profile or webpage. Also visit the Four Eyed Monsters Group on MySpace to find out about all kinds of things you can do to help us promote the project.
Do I need to subscribe to see everything?
No. You can just come back to our profile. Or you can put this code into your profile and the latest episode will always be there for your friends to see, right on your profile. This does not auto-load or auto play, so it wont crash your friends' browsers when they go to your profile:

How is it that some people have seen your movie even though it doesn't have distribution?
We traveled for 9 months to various film festivals showing our film. This journey is actually what the video podcast is about.
What is the film about?
It's about a lot of things. Here's the trailer.
How do a make a video comment?
Just create a clip, put it online, and then plug the url into the text box above and hit post. Make sure you only replace the text that says to be replaced. For more detailed instructions view our video comment tutorial.
Can I make video comments on other peoples pages?
Yes, just steal the code from our page and feel free to use it anywhere.
Can I find your film on BitTorrent sites or other file-sharing networks?
You can try. We haven't seen it out there. Film festivals always give us our copy of the film back to us so there is little chance anyone has had the opportunity to copy our film. Keep in mind, if it does show up on a P2P site, it's is not the final version of our film. What we showed at film festivals was a rough cut. Once the film is released, it will undoubtedly get ripped and be out there, which is fine. All we ask is that you consider buying a Tshirt or a copy of the DVD, if you end up liking the film... At the very least you could help us spread the word about our film.
Are there going to be substantial enough changes to your film that if I've seen it at a film festival I should see it again when it gets distributed?
Assuming the film gets distributed, yes. Other then a ton of little tweaks and edits the animations and the ending will also be different, so you should see it again.
Are you guys looking for music?
We are looking for all types of music for future episodes of the video podcast. Send us a message, ideally with a link directly to the file, so we can download it and put it in the iTunes playlistthat we listen to while we are editing. If a song seems to work well with an episode we'll use it. Do not send copyrighted music unless you own the rights to it. If you don't know what this means, please do not send it.
Are you guys looking for actors for up coming projects?
Not really. Try mandy.com. If you feel like sending a headshot and resume, go ahead. Send us an email with "Headshot" in the subject. But as mentioned earlier, you can work for us in a more informal way by going to the Four Eyed Monsters Group on MySpace and using the tools there to help promote us.
Can I work for you guys?
We are looking for interns to help us out with promoting so yeah. Just send us a message. Put "Internship" is the subject.
Can I write about you guys?
Anyone who would like to write about us is welcome to do so. No blog or publication is to small or too large. Visit the EPK [foureyedmonters.com/epk(not live yet)]
Can I hang out with you guys?
Once we establish a release date for the film we will throw some parties and everyone is invited. In the meantime, we're working day and night producing these episodes and courting distributors, so we don't have anytime to chat or meet up.
