“Bird and Sword” by National Eye
- Featured in Episode 2 -
Susan: We had a request to be interviewed on a Podcast called “WHYME,” so we decided to check out their show to scope things out a bit. We were looking through the list of shows and saw they had an interview with the Spinto Band, and decided to listen to the episode where they are interviewed.
Arin: The Spinto Band mentioned being friends with National Eye and then had the host play “Bird and Sword,” which we thought was cool because, like The Spinto Band’s song “Mandy,” it also was using a mandolin.
Susan: So we googled National Eye and discovered their label “Park the Van Records,” who’s home page streams non-stop music from their label. We found ourselves just going through their site and letting the music play while we were working on other things, and some of the music started to grow on us. We forgot about National Eye for a bit until we kept hearing that song on the “Park the Van” site and, eventually, we realized that we really, really like that song, so we got permission from the label to use it in Episode 2, which we thought went great with the trip down memory lane that features my parents. National Eye has an album coming out in a few months, so check out their MySpace profile for more info, and keep an eye out in the iTunes Music Store for them.
